With almost 7,000 m2 of inhabitable space, the Episcopal Palace of Tortosa is an official Site of National Cultural Interest.
Standing by the River Ebro among Roman ruins, later extensions and exponential growth during the Gothic period, it has been an important witness and protagonist in the history of the city of Tortosa.
Project and site management in collaboration with architects Josep Lluis Ginovart and Agustà Costa Jover.
Irregular floor plan whose main foyer consisted of an imposing cloister, once appropriate, but which now needed a new entrance for security and practical reasons, to give access to reception, offices and guided tours.
The work consisted adapting features of historical value, highlighting them with the layout of the stairway, overcoming all inherent technical difficulties.
